Denistone West
White render, soft arches, warm timber.
The project
Two homes behind one low stone wall, with arches, timber and a breeze-block screen.
A dual occupancy in Denistone West. The two homes share one calm street front: textured white render with rounded corners, arched openings lined with timber battens, a perforated breeze-block screen and planter boxes spilling greenery. A low wall of pale stone with bronze gates runs along the street. At the back, each home steps down to the garden through a terrace under a black louvred pergola, a stone stair beside a water spout, and its own plunge pool. Inside, fluted joinery, veined stone and walnut set the tone, from the kitchen to bathrooms finished in brushed brass or matte black.
The street and rear views reveal different parts of the brief. Soft arches and a breeze-block screen mark the front, while the terraces step down towards the plunge pools. Compare those exterior views with the kitchen and bathroom details in the gallery.
